**APD, LRSO announce amnesty program**
The Ashdown Police Department along with the Little River County Sheriff’s Department has announced an amnesty program that will help everyone who owes old fines.
From July 1 until July 31,
*Anyone who has an outstanding warrant or is on a payment plan for fines and has fallen behind can contact the District Court Clerk to take advantage of this program.
*Anyone paying their old fines during this period will be eligible to have the warrant fees dropped.
*Anyone who is behind on payments or has neglected to pay a fine may contact the Court Clerk in the Little River County Courthouse and request of take advantage of this program.
Organizers with both departments said this program will help those who want to catch up on their fines and hopefully it will help both agencies to collect the fines without having to arrest them and hold them in jail.
